Toddler Food Ideas

Tired of feeding your older baby or toddler the same 4 foods every day? Does your child need more variety in her diet, but you have trouble coming up with new toddler-safe foods to feed her? As many mommies know, getting your older baby or toddler to eat a varied, healthy diet can be a challenge. Sometimes it helps to hear what other moms sucessfully feed their tots.

- Cut-Up Fruit:
- Bananas
- Peaches
- Apples
- Kiwis
- Mango
- Pears
- Blueberries
- Avocado
- Oranges
- Cooked, Cut-Up Veggies:
- Sweet Potato
- Squash
- Zucchini
- Peas
- Carrots
- Bread (toasted or not) spread with:
- Peanut Butter
- Fruit Preserves
- Cream Cheese
- Humus
- Butter
- Cheese cubes
- Yogurt
- Cottage cheese (can mix with applesauce or baby food fruit)
- Applesauce and cinnamon
- Eggs (after 1 year)
- scrambled
- hard-boiled
- omelet
- Quesadilla (tortilla, melted cheese, and maybe some sour cream or guacamole)
- Mac and Cheese (you can add peas or frozen mixed veggies)
- Pasta (my guy likes veggie spiral pasta the best) with marina and/or ground meat
- Veggie stew in slow cooker (chicken broth, potatoes, carrots, peas, squash, etc.)
- Soy-based meatless products, such as “chicken” nuggets, veggie burgers, etc.
- Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
- French Toast
- Oatmeal
- Low sodium canned soup (with most of the broth strained out for easier eating)
- Asian Potsticker dumplings
- Mashed potatoes with cheese, gravy or sour cream
- Baked potato wedges
- Oatmeal Carrot muffins
- Banana Bread
- Ravioli and alfredo sauce
- Teryaki Chicken (finely shredded)
