Description: The Graco SnugRide 5pt Infant Car Seat is a rear-facing car seat/infant carrier designed for babies 5-22lbs and less than 29” long. It features a 5pt harness for a secure fit, including a 2-piece chest clip. It comes LATCH equipped for easy instillation on most vehicles and has a detachable base that can stay belted in your car when you take the infant carrier out. The car seat also features removable head and neck support and an adjustable weather canopy.
Personal Review: We loved our SnugRide car seat. We used it from when our son was a newborn until he was near 8 months old and wanted to sit more upright. He always seemed comfortable in it, and I had piece of mind knowing the car seat’s safety ratings were high. It was relatively easy-to-install and the level gage on the base unit was helpful. I do recommend new parents install the car seat before their baby arrives and have it checked by a professional, though.
It was simple to buckle our son into it, and easy to transfer the carrier in and out of the car. I loved the convenience of transporting him from car to stroller to home without waking him. Our guy took many naps in that car seat! Although we used it as a carrier often, it was a bit awkward to carry, espeically as he gained weight. We finally stopped using it for this purpose when he was around 6 months, as he was just too heavy to lug around. The SnugRide does latch into Graco strollers, though, so you could perhaps get more mileage out of the carrier feature that way.
Although the SnugRide doesn't have a bunuch of fancy extras, it did the trick for us. The weather canopy came in handy, shielding him from the sun, rain and the public, and we used the head/neck support for a long time too. A great car seat. I highly recommend it!
