Crawl n Cruise 2

Description: The Fisher-Price Crawl-n-Cruise Playground is a sturdy, circular toy measuring approximately 2 feet wide and 2 feet tall. Built with mobile babies in mind, its design is perfect for crawlers and cruisers. One side of the toy is open, with the top ring able to move up and down (by the parent), giving baby more room on the inside. Babies can either crawl into the center, and play with a mirror, spinning “nose,” and a plastic ball, or can cruise around the outside of the toy and work various dials with their little fingers. The highlights of this toy are the ball chutes, which are on each side of the toy and criss-cross each other in the middle. Babies can either put the balls in while sitting, or drop them in from above while standing. The balls are textured and fit nicely into little hands. The toy is brightly colored in blue, green, orange and yellow, as are the balls. The toy has three settings- off, crawling and standing, which change how the music and lights are activated by the baby.

Personal Review: We love this toy. We bought it when our baby boy was 7 months old and beginning to pull up to standing. At first he spent much of his time simply crawling into the middle and then pulling-to-standing up inside of it. He enjoyed playing with the dials on the top, and with balls that were handed to him. We thought he would enjoy sitting and watching the balls roll down the chutes, but he has never seemed to really care about that. Sometime around 9 months he figured out how to drop the balls in by himself and now enjoys it in a whole new way. Not only does he enjoy dropping the balls in, but also likes dropping other objects into it and watching what happens. He also cruises around it like crazy and plays with all the gadgets. The music is loud and a bit annoying, and we’ve never really understood how the crawling mode is different than the standing mode, so it’s usually off. It hasn’t seemed to affect the playability of the toy at all. It does take up a good amount of space in our family room and needs to have open space around all sides to get the most out of it.

All-in-all it’s an excellent toy for your mobile baby. Even one who is only sitting may enjoy playing with the toys on the inside and watch the balls roll down the chutes. Our guy is 11 months old, is almost walking, and still plays with it multiple times a day.

Pros:

  • Sturdy, good for cruising around
  • Entertaining (ball chutes, dials to turn, balls to spin)
  • Easy for baby to use (balls right size for hands, baby can put balls in themselves)
  • Longevity (our baby still plays with it everyday 4 months later)

Cons:

  • Need good amount of space for it
  • Music is loud and can be annoying for parents

Tip:

  • You can buy replacement balls online
