Reviewed by Brooke Tseng
Description: The Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone is a stationary entertainer, with a cloth seat which rotates 360 degrees, enabling baby to access a variety of different entertaining features, including a snack tray, mirror, music, lights, and colorful spinning beads. The floor is a bouncy pad that plays silly noises when baby pushes off with their feet. The floor is adjustable to accommodate your growing baby, up to 30” tall.
Personal Review: This play zone served its purpose for us and is a good buy for the price. We first introduced our son too it at 4 months and he was delighted. He was an “upright baby” from very early on, always wanting to stand on our laps even at 2 months. He really enjoyed being able to play upright, and was captivated by the sliding caterpillar and the mirror, but could never get the teething ring in his mouth (the tether was too short). Still, it kept him entertained and happy for the first few months we began using it.
He lost interest, though, at around 7 months. Perhaps it was because he was mobile and on to bigger and better things. He did like other, fancier, exersaucers at friend’s homes though. He was thoroughly bored with the toys on his own. We still used it, and would just give him food in the snack tray or give him other toys and books to look at while in it. He would usually be good for a handful of minutes at a time… long enough for a quick shower or to start dinner. He is 17 months now and we still use once or twice a week.
Overall, it is an adequate playzone. It is good for keeping your baby upright and entertained for a little while, but I don’t think there are enough toys on it to keep them entertained for very long, as the pricier exersaucers do. Also, we’ve found that the bars that hold the toys come loose easily and the height-adjustment knobs are a pain to use, and don’t always lock in place very well. These aren’t huge issues and I don’t think they affect the safety of the product, but they can be annoying. So if you don’t want to spend much money, I would recommend it, but if you can shell out more, an exersaucer with more bells and whistles might work better for you and your little one.
Pros:
- Keeps baby upright
- Keeps baby safely contained
- Cute, whimsical design
- Entertaining
- Less-expensive than most exersaucers
Cons:
- Not many toys
- Teething toy tether (if yours has one) is too short
- Height-Adjustment is difficult to use
