Description: The Fisher-Price Amazing Animals Train is a colorful and baby-friendly motorized train toy. It comes with an engine, cargo car, and three animals that can sit in the cars and engine. The animals included are a giraffe, elephant and monkey, all of which have fun textures and engaging moveable parts. All of the animals have easily-manipulated limbs and are chunky and stable- perfect for little hands. The train, itself, is also easy for babies and toddlers to use. It’s colorful and sturdy and with a push of the large light-up smokestack, the train plays a song and will also drive forward if in mobile mode. When an animal is set inside the engine, the train will play one of three different songs.
Personal Review: We bought this toy for my son’s first birthday, thinking that we might get a lot of mileage out of it. We figured the animals might encourage pretend play when he is older and liked the fact that you can buy additional animals for it. Our 13-month-old son plays with it, but not as much as we thought he would. He likes to move the animal’s limbs and the elephant’s trunk and ears, and sometimes he’ll put the animals into the train and bounce to the music, but it doesn’t hold his attention for as long as we thought it would. I would have given it an A, but rated it a B since our guy isn’t as impressed with it as I am (although he does like it). I still think it’s a creative and quality toy and bought the panda add-on for Christmas. He’s only had it for one month, so maybe we’ll see more interest in the future.
Overall a fun, imaginative toy!

- Fun, educational songs (not annoying and loud like most toys)
- Stationery and mobile settings
- Good for a large age range (babies-toddlers)
- Can buy add-ons
Cons:
- Possibly not enough train cars for additional animals
